Day 1 will cover the following module objectives. Module 1 1. Develop operational definition of EI that was validated through research. 2. Identify the dimensions and skills that contribute to emotionally intelligent behavior. 3. Become familiar with the applications and limitations of positive self assessment. 4. Become familiar with the Emotional Learning System© and apply the first three steps. 5. Develop a personal awarenes of the value of learning, developing, and modeling EI skills. Module 2 1. Define positive assessment; understand the process and be aware of its limitations. 2. Understand the importance of relationship variables in positive assessments, and the advantages of a view from the internal frame of reference. 3. Understand the view of self-as-process. 4. Evaluate the validity and reliability of the ESAP® and SCALE® instruments, as well as their practical applications. 5. Operationally define and understand the role of constructive thinking in developing emotionally intelligent behavior. 6. Understand the contributions of cognitive theory, positive psychology, and neuroscience in developing EI skills. 7. Be able to provide a clear, practical definition for each ESAP® and SCALE® factor and skill.
