This session focuses on the nature of conflict, including what causes conflict in the workplace – especially in the dispatch environment. We will delve into why it is important not to “avoid” conflict, because we all know that ignoring a problem comes at a cost. During the session, attendees will learn conflict resolution skills and tools they can use within their center, to assist them in mediating and resolving conflicts between peers. The larger portion of this session will include real-life scenarios of situations that commonly arise in the center – that cause conflicts between peers. Attendees will work together to brainstorm and discuss how to resolve each of the conflicts in these scenarios. Attendees of this session will walk away with conflict resolution skills, specific to resolving issues between peers.
