While actors can intellectually understand a role, embodying the dialogic text of their character can be elusive in performance. This workshop introduces and provides space to practice a physical and vocal approach to embody a character's text. This 60-minute interactive workshop will be dived into 2 parts and will cover: Part One Introduction of the concept of Operative Words and Method to identify them Participants will practice identifying Operative Words in provided monologue selections Part Two Introduction of physical and vocal method of exploring Operative Words on feet and out loud Participants will practice the physical & vocal method introduced The workshop will end with a discussion of the workshop's topic.
