NUANCE offers a framework that allows editors to provide the necessary guidance for sensitivity reads and respectful querying. Sensitivity readers don't often provide enough structure and guidance to effect change. In turn, writers often don't know what to do with unexpected feedback and little direction. What do you do as an editor when you want to explain what writers should do to tackle troublesome areas in a manuscript? In this hands-on workshop, attendees will get an idea as to what to look out for and what to do when they encounter something they aren't sure of. During the workshop, attendees will work on provided samples, individually and in groups, to tackle the subtleties of providing editorial support on more sensitive manuscripts. Fiction and non-fiction editors of all disciplines are welcome.
