O&M for Deafblindness
Join COMS with backgrounds in special education and deafblindness to learn about providing O&M to clients with complex needs. From preschool to adults, learn new and innovative ways to approach mobility when a cane may not be the most appropriate tool to travel, clients may be in a wheelchair or have hearing loss alongside vision loss, or the client has cognitive deficits that otherwise affect their ability to travel safely with just the use of the long, white cane. Not all orientation and mobility happens with a cane in hand and we will show you various ways to modify instruction and still provide O&M services!
