Repair, modify and completely refurbish straight and folding canes without using chemicals or solvents. The session will discuss how to set up an “in office” cane repair station that requires very little space. Techniques to be demonstrated will include removing and replacing worn grips, restringing folding canes, converting a folding cane to use slip-on tips, and how to add or remove folding cane sections to make folding canes to size as needed. To date, many in our field have shied away from repairing folding canes and, instead, just purchase replacement canes. However, the techniques and modifications used during this session are designed to showcase the ease with which most types of canes can be quickly and easily repaired.
