This course will review some of the innovative low vision devices from Eschenbach that provide the visually impaired with the ability to better accomplish their daily living tasks through improved effectiveness and/or convenience due to the products’ unique features. A review of the main underlying eye diseases that cause vision loss—and how they impact those with the disease—will be followed by a discussion of the different low vision device categories and the types of tasks for which each is best suited. Examples of some of the innovative products from each main category will be introduced along with the type of ADL/visual task for which they are ideally suited. Attendees will then have the opportunity to use some of these innovative products during a hands-on session where they will be able to experience the key features discussed and see how they improve the effectiveness and convenience of the device.
