This session includes a presentation and review of how to perform and/or explain basic orientation and mobility skills. The skills covered will include: experiences under blindfold; multiple aspects of human guide travel with doors, stairs, and seating; and other simple independent travel skills. This session is intended for anyone that interacts with children or adults with visual impairments. Participants will be divided into small groups to review and practice human guide and
other independent skills with low vision simulators and blindfolds. This will NOT focus on assessment or details for teaching students how to use the white cane.
