Our keynote for our banquet will be Dr. Raegan Higgins who is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and a Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Provost at Texas Tech University. Her current research focuses on mathematically modeling prostate cancer treatments. She is a proud alumna of Xavier University of Louisiana and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln. Dr. Higgins is a co-director of the Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE) Program, a Presidential Award for STEM Mentoring recipient, and the lead investigator for the NSF Bridges Across Texas Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Program. Through her work with these projects—and a long list of others, Dr. Higgins is working to support and equip underrepresented students for success in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields.
