School districts face growing workforce challenges that require long-term, sustainable solutions. This session explores how districts can start small and think big by using pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeships to build strong, local talent pipelines—connecting students to careers while strengthening recruitment, retention, and workforce stability across critical school system roles. Participants will explore how starting with small pilot efforts can grow into sustainable workforce strategies that support recruitment, retention, and career advancement across instructional, operational, and support roles. The session will also highlight the role of partnerships with community colleges and workforce partners in aligning training with district needs. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to leverage existing resources, reduce barriers to entry, and create pathways that benefit both students and school systems.
