For 911 dispatchers, chaos often feels like home. The noise, adrenaline, and constant action keep us sharp and connected to our purpose. But when the noise stops, stillness can feel strange—even unsettling. This session explores why we chase constant activity, what happens when the quiet sets in, and how to find balance without losing your edge. Through reflection, discussion, and guided practice, you’ll learn practical tools to slow down, ground yourself, and get comfortable in the quiet. You’ll leave with strategies to bring calm and clarity into both your personal and professional life. Purpose: This session will empower participants to recognize their own patterns of seeking chaos and apply practical mindfulness and grounding tools to intentionally create moments of calm—building resilience, clarity, and balance both professionally and personally. Session Objectives: • Identify personal patterns of seeking chaos and recognize the psychological and physiological impacts of constant stimulation. • Demonstrate at least one mindfulness or grounding technique to manage discomfort in quiet moments. • Develop a simple, actionable plan to intentionally incorporate moments of stillness and calm into daily routines.
