This course introduces physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to the science of climate change and its growing impact on human health. Following a concise overview of climate–health pathways, learners will engage in case-based learning to examine how climate-related stressors—such as heat, air quality, extreme weather, and shifting disease patterns—are changing patient needs and care delivery. Through applied discussion and reflection, participants will identify practical ways PTs and PTAs must adapt clinical decision-making, patient education, advocacy, and systems-level practice to continue advancing the profession’s mission to transform society through movement.
