Participants will dive into three fast-paced, NASA-inspired engineering challenges they can bring directly into their 3-5 classrooms. Teachers will design and test a Dragonfly-style rotorcraft, build a mini heat shield to protect a crayon like the Parker Solar Probe, and explore simple sensor-based modeling with micro:bits to simulate planetary phenomena. All activities use low-cost, classroom-ready materials and include take-home templates, STEM connections, and ideas for integrating literacy, data collection, and the NC Portrait of a Graduate durable skills.
