Applying the design process and incorporating STEM principles can make any text come to life. Students engage with the text while collaborating. In this session, participants will get hands-on examples of text-driven STEM challenges and leave with numerous resources. Participants will not only learn the engineering design process as it applies to literature and reading, but they will also participate in hands-on examples. Learning with STEM mystery bags and literary design challenges, participants will learn how to "stemify" a traditional reading lesson and incorporate hands-on opportunities for a variety of learners.
