Participants will explore how weather concepts develop across grades K-5, with particular attention to evaporation and the water cycle. Using the Weather and Climate strand map, we will examine how student understanding progresses from making simple weather observations to recognizing patterns and using data to explain changes over time. Educators will engage with phenomena-based instruction and discussion routines that support student sensemaking around the water cycle. The session will also highlight common student ideas, key instructional shifts across grade levels, and practical, standards-aligned classroom strategies.
