The value of APA accreditation is confirmed by the quality maintained by accredited programs and the greater ease with which graduates of accredited programs secure licensure and jobs relative to graduates from unaccredited programs. Programs seeking accreditation and reaccreditation have opportunities to attend invaluable self-study and site visitor workshops as well as view online videos sponsored by the Commission on Accreditation. The purpose of the symposium is to expand the resources available to PsyD program leadership seeking reaccreditation. Using scholarship on the reaccreditation process, as well as our experiences as program directors ending recent reaccreditation cycles, we will facilitate dialogue and provide resources helpful during the reaccreditation process.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to describe the reaccreditation process.
2. Participants will be able to identify challenges and opportunities in the reaccreditation process.
3. Participants will be able to list the resources available for PsyD programs seeking reaccreditation.
