Transitioning from a high-performing individual contributor to a successful staff or department manager can be challenging. In this session, William Ranes from Fuel Medical will interview two experienced providers—an audiologist and a physician—who have made this transition. Nizhoni Denipah, M.D., and Sara Mattson, Au.D., will share lessons learned and practical advice on navigating the shift from strictly patient care to adding the new responsibilities of management and coaching, including how to handle difficult conversations and other leadership skills. William will also draw on his own experience moving from a member-facing regional manager role to a company-wide taskforce officer, offering insights into leading and influencing within a larger organizational context. Learning Objectives: 1. Navigate the shift from patient care to a management role. 2. Differentiate between leadership and management. 3. Develop strategies for handling difficult conversations and measuring success.
