Through self-awareness, education, and the ethical practice of cultural humility, counselors apply a multicultural orientation. Reflecting on the foundation of ethical and moral principles, this program will facilitate self-awareness through the use of a Cultural Formulation and Integration Tool to initiate an in-depth examination of personal culture. This practical application of self-assessment allows the identification of cultural identity, limitations, potential biases, areas of risk, and implications of privilege and disadvantage. Participants will gain an understanding of seven culturally relevant documentation domains and apply a multicultural orientation in the development of a mock treatment plan.
