Breakout Session - FUNctional Body-Based Methods for Holistic Wellness and Mental Health
This interactive presentation will provide participants with body-based practices for all levels of physical ability to help increase energy, enhance mindfulness, release tension, reduce stress, and restore calm.
Techniques during this session will be presented in a manner that is appropriate for trauma survivors and those with limited or no experience with structured movement programs.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to use at least one body-based exercise with clients to reduce anxiety or stress after attending this session.
Participants will be able to cite at least three benefits of body-based practices to improve mental, spiritual, emotional, and/or physical health.
Participants will be able to name at least two east Texas resources that use accessible, body-based methods to help improve mental, spiritual, emotional, and/or physical health.
