Summer STEM camps provide a unique opportunity to engage students in hands-on learning experiences that can spark interest in future careers. Thematic camps, focusing on specific STEM areas, offer students a deeper understanding of potential career paths while developing critical skills. This workshop will explore the design and implementation of thematic STEM summer camps that introduce students to potential careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Participants will learn about successful camp models that combine hands-on activities, field trips, and interactions with STEM professionals to create immersive learning experiences. Key topics include: Developing camp themes aligned with in-demand STEM careers Incorporating career exploration activities into camp curricula Engaging local STEM professionals as mentors and guest speakers Designing projects that simulate real-world STEM challenges Strategies for making camps inclusive and accessible to underrepresented students
