Tour Stop # 1 – Tuscarora Dairy – The Durfee Family. Steve and Mary Lou Durfee have been able to bring their three sons, Nathan, Benjamin and Daniel back into the family business. The farm is currently milking over 1800 cows across two different locations in Madison County. They are cropping 4000 acres with an emphasis on corn and hay for the dairy. The farm is located in Chittenango, NY a bedroom community of Syracuse. Location – 906 Tuscarora Road, Chittenango, NY 13037 Tour Stop #2 Choose from (A) or (B) Stop (A) – Food Bank of Central NY – limited to 15 – An opportunity for attendees to tour the new warehouse space and to pack food for distribution to local food pantries located across eleven Central and Northern New York counties. Location – 7066 Interstate Island Road, Syracuse, NY 13209 Stop (B) – Wegmans of DeWitt – limited to 25 – A chance to tour a local Wegman’s store, interact with store management and discuss the opportunities for marketing local food products.
