Join DNR Healthy Waters team members to engage with Wisconsin’s new water resources protection program – Healthy Watersheds, High-Quality Waters (https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/SurfaceWater/HQW.html). The Healthy Watersheds, High-Quality Waters initiative provides a road map for striking an improved balance between restoration and protection, all while emphasizing and celebrating the wonderful waters of Wisconsin. For this event, we will walk through modeling and assessment results as well as the recently-released action plan and lean on participants to help bring the HWHQW initiative to life.
This workshop is intended for individuals who participated in the spring 2021 Healthy Watersheds, High-Quality Waters virtual discussion groups or those who have an existing understanding of the initiative. Expect to discuss questions like: where are Wisconsin’s healthiest watersheds and high-quality waters? What actions will protect them into the future? How can I or my organization partner to help with those actions? How can I integrate this initiative into other planning efforts?
