Narcan Administration During Disasters
Narcan®, is a medicine that can help people who are overdosing on an opioid. During disasters, the additional stress and lack of access to Narcan may cause problems for those using opioids. This WORKSHOP will provide you with the knowledge to respond.

Do you know how to help someone you suspect has overdosed on opioids? This interactive workshop will provide you with the knowledge and confidence you need to respond to a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency.
In this course, you will learn:
1) To recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
2) The appropriate care to provide based on the person's breathing and level of responsiveness.
3) How to give Naloxone using several different products -- a nasal atomizer, Narcan ® Nasal Spray and EVZIO ® -- to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
Whether you're adding this workshop to supplement other first aid training you have taken it as your first exposure to first aid training – you will gain the knowledge you need to respond to an opioid overdose emergency.
Who Should Take this Workshop: Those who may serve in Emotional & Spiritual Care, Disaster Shelter Operations, Mass Feeding/Canteen Operations.
