Impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with library renovations and an intentional move toward greater self-service, where feasible, recently sparked significant changes to course reserves delivery at the UC San Diego Library. Due to a temporary move of the service desk, print-format reserves transitioned from staff-mediated to self-service in September 2021. In early 2022, the Library also launched a Controlled Digital Lending pilot to complement its existing electronic reserves offering. Further, physical reserves will move into an interior mkSolutions LibDispenser unit with its planned installation in late summer 2022. This poster will detail each of these delivery options, including related statistics, images, staff and user feedback, challenges encountered, benefits to the staff and user experiences, and more. Poster content will inform attendees of these new or non-traditional approaches to reserves services and inspire them to consider possible enhancements to their own service model.
