While many libraries offer digital services, understanding how they effectively play into a space's current physical offerings can be key to strengthening your collective resource offerings. Limitations placed on libraries (ex. Limited staff, budget, hours) can be supplemented by empowering a patron from the start. Informing patrons of best practices and resources through effective signage, procedures, and engagement pushes both physically and virtually can see significantly fewer demands being placed on library staff. This enables the limited resources to see drastically more impact and provide a much more focused look into the specific needs of your patrons. Signage using QR codes, online booking tools, community engagement, and various service-focused signage demonstrates a cost-effective means to engage patrons. Collectively, this trend in libraries which stems from a COVID era dilemma enables libraries to begin to consider the fusing of digital and physical resource ecosystems into a committed hybrid model.
