Within hours of impact, Hurricane Helene stretched the limits of law enforcement and first responders with a relentless demand for life saving, protective, search and rescue efforts in western North Carolina. This presentation will provide a high-level overview of the North Carolina Emergency Management response to Western North Carolina to include the deployment of peer and mental health resources to western North Carolina throughout the SERT activation.
