Throughout the summer of 2024, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Hope Mills Police Department (HPD), the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD), the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), Bladen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), United States Army Criminal Investigative Division (CID), Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation determined that over 100 vape shops were distributing illegal THC products in the Fayetteville, NC area. In September 2024, over 160 law enforcement officers executed state search warrants at 108 business locations and three residences.
