This session will discuss challenges associated with the restoration of a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places that was slated for demolition. Areas discussed include: embodied energy in existing buildings, temporary protection/stabilization, water & moisture management, mineral coatings for brick, brick mortar mixes, spray foam as a structural material, snow loads and rafter design, wood framing techniques, insulation techniques and roof jacking.
