This session will feature the Uplifting the Waiʻanae Community for Resilience and Vibrance project funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency through the Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change grant program. The Uplifting Waiʻanae project will support new resilience initiatives to provide off-grid power, economic development through agricultural technologies, workforce development opportunities, pollution mitigation and storm water abatement measures, and native and food plant reforestation in strategic alignments to provide environmental resilience. The project will combine traditional low
technology solutions with high technology to diversity opportunities in the hot, dry, and drought-stricken community, and to mitigate climate change impacts.
