This session will explore the different types of federally designated institutions of higher education. Students will learn about Hispanic Serving Institutions, Minority Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges & Universities, Historically Black Colleges & Universities, Native American Serving Institutions, and Asian American and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions. Federally designated institutions provide resources for students pre-college and during their collegiate years through programming, services, educational support, enhanced curriculum to reflect all identities including their own, and professional development of faculty and staff with this knowledge/skills/behaviors.
