This session will explore how "our" (schools, society, communities, and perceptions of those around us) shape the futures of youth of color. Engaging both adults and children emphasizes the role everyone plays in "opening doors" for our youth and removing systemic barriers.
To ensure that youth of color have the opportunity to thrive, these groups must work together to break down barriers, build supportive environments, and create pathways for success. Consider that this session provides an opportunity for participants to act in a collective effort to shape our youth's future and develop support and opportunities for them to grow and reach their potential.
Through this session, participants will gain insight into how "we" have the potential to create environments where youth of color "can walk through" the doors we open--toward success, empowerment, and self-determination.
