This continuing education session reviews the assessment and management of patients with diabetes mellitus in the prehospital environment, with an emphasis on the increasing use of patient-managed diabetes technologies. Participants will examine continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin delivery systems, and the integration of patient-owned technology into EMS assessment, treatment, documentation, and patient handoff, consistent with the Michigan EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards. This CE activity is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) for 1 Diabetic Emergencies CEH.
