This continuing education session reviews the assessment and management of patients with diabetes mellitus in the prehospital environment, with an emphasis on the increasing use of patient-managed diabetes technologies. Participants will examine continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), insulin delivery systems, and the integration of patient-owned technology into EMS assessment, treatment, documentation, and patient handoff, consistent with the Michigan EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards.
