Instructor BIO
Marcus Sprague is retired after 25 years serving at the Santa Rosa Police Department in Northern California. During that time, he served in various assignments, including the Crime Suppression Team and investigative assignments in Property, Narcotics, and Homicide. He served on the Mobile Fierce Force Team and in various positions on the SWAT, including as Commander. He holds a Bachelor's degree in business and a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety leadership from the University of San Diego. He is the Vice President of the California Association of Tactical Officers, where he teaches SWAT Team Leader and Commander, Critical Incident Leadership, Active Shooter Leadership, Demonstration Response and serves as the host for the CATO podcast.
Course description:
The course is designed to develop and enhance critical thinking skills necessary for the successful resolution of dynamic tactical problems. This course is not about tactics, but rather the fundamental doctrinal principles from which all tactics are derived. The concepts, principles, and methodologies discussed have universal application and can be applied to any unfolding dynamic tactical problem regardless of the size or nature of the event. Skills learned will be displayed through a series of case studies, games and practical exercises.
