Instructor BIO
Marcus Sprague is retired after 25 years serving at the Santa Rosa Police Department in Northern California. During that time, he served in various assignments, including the Crime Suppression Team and investigative assignments in Property, Narcotics, and Homicide. He served on the Mobile Fierce Force Team and in various positions on the SWAT, including as Commander. He holds a Bachelor's degree in business and a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety leadership from the University of San Diego. He is the Vice President of the California Association of Tactical Officers, where he teaches SWAT Team Leader and Commander, Critical Incident Leadership, Active Shooter Leadership, Demonstration Response and serves as the host for the CATO podcast.
Course description:
This presentation is designed to provide attendees assigned to a supervisory/leadership role as well as tactical operators/supervisors with the tools and techniques to make informed and effective decisions during critical incidents. Instruction will include techniques for identifying important characteristics in a developing incident, recognizing factors that influence the event, establishing priorities, and taking action to prevent escalation, promote de-escalation, and begin intervention toward a successful resolution
