Building Wókpȟaŋ Kits: Traditional Medicines & 988 Awareness
GPTLHB
We will be creating Wókpȟan kits—traditional medicine bags that include items such as an abalone shell, northern sage, flat cedar, sweetgrass, čhaŋšáša (cansasa), bitter root, bear root, matches, a brochure, and 988 educational materials. During this activity, participants will learn how these traditional medicines support healing, alongside shared cultural teachings. We will also provide education on facts and myths related to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This activity highlights how cultural practices are incorporated and promoted as an important part of the healing process.
