COVID-19 Visitation Restrictions Across the Continuum of Care
There is no question about the implications of visitation restrictions on patient safety and patient quality of life (and care) yet there continues to be a risk of repeating this unfortunate imbalance between infection prevention and quality of life. This session will review the stages of visitation restrictions due to COVID-19 outbreaks--as regulated by state and federal officials--and the discrepancies between visitation allowance between care settings, specifically acute care and long-term care setting. Current challenges with changing visitation expectations across settings will also be reviewed.
