This session along with Shepherding the Shepherds tell a full story—what it means to lead others well, and why those who lead must also care for themselves. While they naturally connect, each session is impactful as a stand-alone experience.
As leaders we wear many hats; coach, mentor, counselor, teacher. In my opinion there is no more important role than that of a shepherd. All good leadership contains this selfless element. Why? Shepherds perform a few things with their flocks; they lead, they watch, they care, they protect, they provide and comfort. Isn’t that what safety professionals do as well? In the presentation I will share why I believe being a shepherd is the most important role we fill by defining what a shepherd is, what they do, how to be a shepherd and, just maybe, convince you to believe the same way.
