Savanna Trust is a non-profit organisation that specialises in using theatre, radio drama and film to bring about social development. They use interactive theatre because it is a collaborative process that lets people take part in identifying solutions to the problems they experience. Community theatre is flexible and engaging and makes it possible to discuss important but sensitive issues. Urgent action is needed to address the climate and ecological emergency that is wreaking havoc on regions like Southern Africa. In order for the green transition to also be just, it is essential that communities have a voice in how it's done. Interactive theatre is one way to make space for those voices, making sure that rural perspectives are included in the struggle for Just Transition. Savannah Trust demonstrates that drama can be a way to empower local communities and minorities and an instrument for climate action. http://www.savannatrust.org/
