The presentation will cover the basics of silica exposure (aprox. 5-10min) and the health consequences thereof. The main objective is to introduce safety and health professionals to best practices in assessing silica exposures (Parallel Particle Impactors) and cover real-world exposure evaluations that have been conducted in the work place. The presentation is also intended to introduce an easy-to-use exposure assessment tool that helps employers comply with silica exposure limits, in the absence of sampling, that can help achieve compliance with OSHA regulations.
