In an alternate future where the weather of the world has been permanently altered, the son of a famed polar explorer sets out in search of his father, who disappeared while looking for a lost city buried under the snow. But Wes Singleton believes his father is still alive - somewhere above the timberline. Adapted from the exquisitely painted novel, the world premiere stage adaptation is sure to delight
Our story is set 1,500 years into the future, when drastic pole shifts have turned the earth into a frozen wasteland. Explorers and scientists travel the earth, excavating lost cities in search of technology to help restore our planet to its warm, green self. Explorer Galen Singleton believes he is on the verge of discovering the city, along with the treasured “Arcturus Device” that holds the key to earth’s survival. When Galen is betrayed by enemy explorer Braeburn Wilkes, his ship is destroyed and Galen is feared lost in The Frozen Waste. Galen's novice explorer son, 17-year old Wes, embarks on an epic journey across the Waste to find his father. Along the way he is confronted by the challenges of life in the frozen white: rhinos, snow leopards, polar bears, and the Tukklan people, as well as other explorers who pillage lost cities seeking treasure. Wes befriends a Tukklan girl, Linea, who along with the guidance of the Old Ones, leads Wes on an adventure of a lifetime. In his quest for his father, Wes finds himself and creates his own destiny as an explorer.
