The healthcare workforce, particularly nurses, remains at risk. With over half of nurses considering leaving clinical practice, the implications threaten patient safety, care quality, and system resilience. While burnout interventions typically focus on individual factors like rest and training, the physical practice environment remains largely unaddressed. This study uses social listening to investigate this overlooked dimension of burnout, analyzing over 18,000 subreddit comments using natural language processing, supported by a full literature review and nurse focus groups. These results reveal critical links between the built environment and nurse fatigue and provide a practical blueprint for architects, designers, and administrators to create future-ready facilities that support and sustain the nursing workforce.
