AE Equipment Planning Vs Outfitting Solutions from the Outfitting Equipment Planner
General session resumes.
Space Planning at the AE level is very different than Space planning at the initial outfitting effort. While AE planners are increasingly being integrated into the initial outfitting efforts, the planning focus shifts from building infrastructure to staff workflow. Where the design allocates the utilities and space to allow equipment to be utilized, the outfitting plan identifies the correct equipment quantities and configurations to support patient care in the medical spaces.
This presentation will review the design documents for a VA clinical environment at the predesign, design cutsheet, procurement package phases to review how the design solution changes quantity, configuration, and detail to support building flexibility and safe patient care requirements.
