Delivering healthcare infrastructure in remote island environments requires balancing clinical performance, resilience, and constructability within some of the world’s most challenging conditions. Limited infrastructure, high environment risk, and complex logistics demand that planners, architects, and engineers rethink how facilities are conceived, constructed, and sustained over time. This session references a series of healthcare facility projects designed by SS&A Design Collective in the Pacific Island setting, each shaped by environmental vulnerability, material shortages, and constrained technical support. The presentation explores how clinical priorities and engineering strategies were aligned to safeguard continuity of care while addressing site-specific limitations. Core Competencies: Strategic Planning, Space Planning and Programming, Design, Equipment Planning, Equipment Acquisition, Construction Management, Transition Planning AIA Course Number: 2026.03.011 AIA LU/HSW = 1 LU/HSW
