Learning Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, audience members will be able to:
1) Understand how historical trauma and epigenetic mechanisms shape addiction vulnerability and treatment engagement in Native communities.
2) Identify how the MSJCC multicultural counseling competencies apply to addiction care with Indigenous clients.
3) Understand culturally grounded approaches (e.g., DARTNA, Ceremony-Assisted Treatment) and describe one core element of each that enhances healing (e.g., belonging/kinship, ceremony integration), with attention to ethical collaboration with cultural leaders.
