Infrastructure and energy projects commonly raise public interest regarding the potential for adverse impact on visually sensitive resources and community character. Depending on project type, compliance with specific regulatory requirements is often necessary to identify, assess, and mitigate potential visual impact. Failure to accurately and objectively address this concern can lead to misinterpretation, diminished public confidence and project delays. This presentation will provide an overview of common regulatory requirements, discuss common visual impact assessment items to be addressed, and identify the methodology and tools available for compliance.
