Conventional approaches have been removal and replacement or piling. In recent years, there has been a proliferation of the use of a wide variety of ground improvement techniques. In many situations, ground improvement techniques offer cost and scheduling advantages over the conventional approaches. Ground improvement can be used to support warehouses, buildings, embankments, roads, ports, rail, tanks, wind farms and more. Ground improvement is widely used on brownfield sites and is a sustainable solution compared to conventional piling.
