This presentation will (a)explore the challenges and barriers to supporting SWD's with significant challenges in your district; (b)introduce and explore effective methods for developing supportive environments.

Specific content includes understanding IDS (In District Services) - 1:1 supports to SWD's within the district who require Tier 2 or Tier 3 individualized behavioral supports; IDC - (In-District Consultation) - qualified consultants or support staff to lead the individualized consultation plan within the school or district-wide; IDP (In District Program) - classroom embedded in public school with staff specialized in academic and behavioral skills to support the unique needs of Tier 3 SWD's; and (c)provide a generalized roadmap for implementing the specialized supports across diverse settings
