This presentation is a review of a case study of a hybrid operating room (HOR). The case study centers around a renovation of an existing HOR that was renovated from a space constrained by a small footprint and outdated technology to two state-of -the -art HORs. The design process and the vision the customer had regarding technology, infection prevention and other considerations and how those impacted the outcomes that worked and did not work will be discussed. The design process and the integration of equipment planning necessary to stay ahead of the “technological curve” will be detailed.
Today’s care environments must respond to the escalating demand for personalized medicine; tailoring treatments based on individual patient profiles. HORs play a vital role in aligning medical interventions uniquely suited to each patient's needs.
