Breakout Session: Yoga as Connection: Body, Mind, Community, and Soul

As distinct from the fitness and wellness industry version of the practice, yoga therapy is a holistic practice that aims to integrate disparate parts of one’s life into a cohesive whole. The practice uses the body as a starting point for developing connection, first with the body's different systems, then with the beliefs and stories held about the self, and brings that forward into behaviors and actions in the community.
Participants will experience a felt sense of connection with themselves and with those around them.
Participants will learn about the scope of practice for a yoga therapist and appropriate referrals.
