This session will walk participants through a practical, end‑to‑end approach to designing and operationalizing a modern supplier compliance program that meets FSMA and FSMA 204 expectations while reducing manual workload and strengthening supply chain resilience. Drawing on real‑world experience from a high‑volume food distribution environment managing more than 1,000 suppliers, the presentation will cover how to move from email‑driven follow‑up to risk‑based, system‑driven workflows. Topics will include building tiered supplier risk classifications; integrating vendor documentation, GFSI certificates, COIs, recall agreements and indemnifications into automated workflows; and using analytics to drive escalation, prioritization and continuous improvement. The session will also highlight how AI‑enabled or rules‑based tools, such as “hot lists” and automated escalation logic, can be layered onto platforms like ReposiTrak to shift accountability back to suppliers and category managers. The speaker will share lessons learned from implementing these systems, including change management, food safety culture considerations, and how to align compliance programs with FSMA 204 traceability requirements across distribution operations. Attendees will leave with actionable templates and strategies they can adapt to their own organizations, whether in manufacturing, distribution or integrated supply chains.
